Insurance is in our DNA. We offer employees a solid program of benefits so you don’t have to worry about being covered when you need it:
- Medical. We offer four medical plans which provide major medical, prescription, hospital stay and preventive coverage for you and your dependents.
- Dental. American National offers several dental options from which to choose.
- Vision. American National offers a vision PPO plan with a national network.
- Insurance. Life Insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment (with an option for employee-paid supplemental coverage)
You can pay for qualified medical and dependent care expenses with your pre-tax dollars. Flexible spending accounts are available to all employees, whether you participate in a medical plan or not. Employees covered under our high deductible health plan can set up a health savings account to pay for medical, dental and vision expenses.

It’s your time
Beginning on your first day, if eligible, you can earn and can use Paid Time Off. PTO provides a bank of days off with pay (new employees receive 15) that you can use for any purpose: illness, vacation, personal time, doctor or dentist visits, to care for dependents or just because.
American National observes eight paid holidays. Eligible employees also receive three paid floating holidays to use during the year.
Planning for the future
It’s never too early to plan for retirement. We encourage you to participate in American National’s 401(k) plan where you defer a percentage of your income into the plan for your retirement. The company also contributes to your plan: up to 6 percent of your annual income every year.
